The history of golf in Třinecké dates back to 1976 when the golf section was founded in TJ TESLA Oldřichovice. At that time, the section had 15 members who used one of the few courses available at that time in Šilheřovice for their game. Miroslav Stebel served as the first president (then chairman) of the section. In 1983, Karel Plachý became the club's president and led the club through a revolutionary period, during which the club changed its name to Golf Club Třinec.
In the 1990s, the club sought a suitable location for building a golf course, and the decision was made between Vendryně and Ropice. Ropice was chosen, and along the Vělopolí River, the first six holes and the now legendary "boudička" were created. Vlastík Bauer was the driving force behind golf in Třinec, and in his honor, the memorial tournament bearing his name is regularly held in May. In 1999, the golf club was renamed Beskydský golfový klub, and Bronislav Cienciala became its president. The construction of the golf course in Ropice began according to the project by Hans Georg Erhardt. The home course of the club became the golf course in Ropice, located in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains between Třinec and Český Těšín.
Since its establishment, the club has undergone dynamic development in its membership base and is now one of the larger golf clubs in the Czech Republic. From a sporting perspective, it is among the top clubs. Both men and women play in the highest league competition, and the Youth Training Center has produced several national champions. In 2013 and 2014, it was recognized by the Czech Golf Federation as the best Training Center in the Czech Republic. By the end of 2007, the number of members approached 800. Club life in Ropice is supported by many club tournaments, social, and sporting events, including traditional HCP Sundays.
In 2023, the club returned to its original name, Golf Club Třinec.
