In the Golf Course of the Year 2022 survey, we achieved the 2nd place in the category of the Highest-Quality Nine-Hole Course.

Our club was founded in 1994, and the construction of the course began in the same year. By June 1996, we were already playing on the course. The course was designed by Kamil Pilát. It is a flat course situated on forest meadows, except for two holes, which are located within the forest.

The Bechyně Golf Course is located directly in the Černická Oboře, which was established by Petr Vok of Rožmberk as early as 1586 and is located 7 km from Bechyně. In the middle of the game reserve, there is a rectangular meadow measuring 500 × 200 meters, adorned with over twenty mature trees. This meadow features a total of five holes out of nine. The majestic deciduous trees with their spreading crowns have a dual effect – on one hand, you are enchanted by their beauty, while on the other hand, you ponder how to execute your shot without hitting a tree. Additionally, there are two special forest holes on the course, where playing out of bounds often means losing or rendering the ball unplayable.

From the perspective of its integration into the landscape, the Bechyně course is a gem. Especially during sunset, in the evening, the entire area exudes a noble atmosphere. This is further enhanced by the noble manor house, which houses the clubhouse and restaurant, and the nearby baroque chateau close to the driving range. The holes on the central meadow are clear and flat, although one must be careful of the mentioned trees and take into account the overall length of shots. There are also several challenging streams (hazardous areas) where the ball can get lost after landing. Conversely, the forest holes are winding, and due to the surrounding vegetation, precision is crucial in ball placement. The course as a whole is not easy, but beginners will especially enjoy playing on the central meadow. There are not many bunkers around the small greens, with fairway bunkers found between holes 2 and 7. Regardless of your final score, the exceptional environment should always ensure a pleasant experience.
